Merged cells don’t stay merged on mobile

I did my first tables and love what they look like and the ease of building them.

I am having one big problem. The first row in all of my tables have 5 columns which I merged. On the desktop it looks fine but on both the tablet and iphone, the merged cells show as individual cells with the content repeated 5 times.

I saw Erdem respond to a similar question saying the member should adjust the “items per cells” to get the desired layout. But I don’t see where or how to do that.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what specific sequence of steps I should take to get the mobile merge to look like the desktop merge.
