Popups when clicking on Image

I have been adding images to Table Builder tables. They are stored in Google Photos. I insert the link location for each image. Most have a .jpg at the end of the URL, but newer ones don’t end with,jpg, ending with -no or something else. This is how Google Photos stores them.
When I look at the page later as a user, I get a nice little popup when I click on the .jpg images. However when I click the non-.jpg images, they take over the window and I have to use the browser back arrow to get back to my page.
How can I get these image to behave?

I have emailed back and forth with Erdem a few times on this but it appears that he does not have a solution for the problem. Disappointing.
